Our venue is located on the historical Tomoka River. We sit atop what was known in earlier days as "Coquina Ridge".
Named as such because the coquina bluffs where far above the water line and a barrier for predators. Alligators in those days grew to enormous size.

From the Lost Causeway, a hand pulled ferry was used to shuttle the wagons, animals and crops across. Pictured is a similar style ferry used during the period.

From the overhead view, you can see where the Lost Causeway
came to the river at Buckhead Bluff Landing. The Ferry went
across to what is now the Tomoka Landing Marina area and
the Ormond Outpost River Lot.
